WPB Block Party Series Keeps Teens Off The Street

The City of West Palm Beach in partnership with a coalition of West Palm Beach organizations launched Teens Unite, a summer block party series aimed at keeping youth ages 12-18 off the streets. Every Saturday night until July 29, teens gather at assigned locations around the city to enjoy festivities like basketball tournaments, video games, arts-n-crafts, dance parties and free food all between the hours of 7-10pm.

The Teens Unite summer series officially kicked off on June 10 with a splash party at Gaines Park pool. In an interview with WPBF 25, Mayor’s Assistant Kevin Jones said, “Some of the youth development programs in the north end of the city called me and said, ‘Kevin, what can we do during the summer to really keep our young people busy and plus create a positive environment.’”

Teens Untie was born.
