The Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast will host the Men of Distinction Awards Ceremony on Friday, June 16 at 6:00pm at the Riviera Beach Marina Village (200 E. 13th Street). This event will honor local movers and shakers who have made a difference in Palm Beach County in the arenas of public service, youth leadership, education, spiritual leadership and nonprofit service.
The keynote speaker for the evening is former Miami Heat and NBA star Billy Thompson, who now pastors Jesus People Ministries in Boca Raton.
“The Men of Distinction Awards recognizes the unsung heroes of our community,” says Shalonda Warren CEO of the Sickle Cell Foundation. “It is the foundation’s honor to celebrate their great work during an evening surrounded by family, friends and colleagues.”
The Men of Distinction Awards is the culmination ceremony for the 2nd Annual A Father’s Heart Conference that started on June 14.
Last year’s award recipients included: Riviera Beach Chief of Police Clarence Williams in public service, Anthony Henderson in youth leadership, Darren Studstill in education, Bishop A.J. Wright in spiritual leadership and James Green in non-profit service.
