The Palm Beach County Youth Summit will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 8:00am-3:30pm. The host site for this annual event is Palm Beach Lakes High School, located at 3505 Shiloh Drive in West Palm Beach. The theme of this year’s summit is Open your Mind.
Middle and high school students who attend the summit will learn about topics like career pathways, building healthy relationships, self-esteem, resiliency, cyber bullying and gang and substance abuse prevention. Student attendees will also have the opportunity to earn up to ten community service hours. Admission to the event is free and will include breakfast and lunch.
Parents are also encouraged to attend the summit specifically for the Power of Parents sessions. These presentations, sponsored by Molina Healthcare, will discuss topics like communicating with your teen, financial management, dealing with peer pressure, talking to your teen about sexual health and healthcare navigation.
Registration for the event is required. To secure admission, visit http://www.pbcyouthsummit.org/ticket.html. Registration will also be available in person on the day of the event, but will end promptly at 9:00am.
